The first images of the Great Wall Motors’ Tank 600 have emerged online ahead of its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in August this year. The Tank 600 is quintessentially a rival to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The TANK series is GWM’s stand-alone off-road vehicle brand. The Tank 600 will be more premium, spacious and luxurious as suggested by the huge chrome grille and the full-LED headlights. There’s more chrome on the bumper as well. The chiselled lines and the overall appearance of the vehicle make it look more toned down than the original sketches. As per reports, the Tank 600 will be powered by Great Wall’s new 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine, tuned to deliver 348 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is expected to get Great Wall’s new 9-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Aside from a twin-turbo V6, the company will apparently introduce a hybrid version of the Tank 600, too.The Tank 600 is a traditional body-on-frame SUV with an emphasis on off-road ability. It will sit between the Tank 300 and the upcoming Tank 700 (a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series rival) in the company’s lineup. Leaked documents suggest the Tank 600 will measure 5,050mm in length, 1,934mm in width, and 1,905mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,850mm.It’s too early to tell whether the Tank 600 or Tank 300/700 will eventually make their way in Nepal. But, considering the high demands for big luxury SUVs from the likes of Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, and Land Rover, GWM could definitely foray into this segment.Great Wall Motors recently announced its arrival in Nepal with the introduction of Haval SUVs and Poer Pickup truck. VG Impex Pvt. Ltd. is the sole authorised distributor of Great Wall Motors in Nepal.Price of Haval SUVs and Great Wall Motors Poer Pickup in Nepal[table id=98 /]
